Elmendorf AFB: Elmendorf Housing Area

Ive never actually lived in the Elmendorf Housing area but I have been in plenty of the houses and know the area very well as I lived on Fort Richardson the adjoining base. The housing on elmedorf is quite similar to Fort Richardson as it is newer housing. It is in walking distance from the px, food court, commissary, and shoppette. It is also located within walking distance to a huge new shopping center in Anchorage with a Target, Kohls, best buy, movie theatre, ihop, among other shops and restaurants. Downtown Anchorage is about a 5 minute drive from this location. I would highly recommend living in Elmendorf housing as it is a really nice housing area, has parks for the kids, the schools are close by and there tons of shopping all within walking distance. A very safe and convenient housing area for families.
