• Recommendations: LRAFB is located in Jacksonville Arkansas. There are two highways in the area. One is well used today, and the other is an older one that isn't used as often but for locals who know its still there. Be careful of renting near the Old Jacksonville Highway (not the US-67/167 which is the newer one). It does flood along the old highway whenever there is an enormous amount of rain. Take note on this if you want to live outside of Jacksonville as well since both of the highways can also flood to, and thus forcing them to be shut down until waters recede. If you're buying a house Cabot, Sherwood, Austin, Beebe, and Ward are close areas to the base. Cabot and Sherwood have a higher population than the others, and their schools are really good. Cabot has a lot of traffic though due to the population boom in the last ten years, and small roads. Austin, Beebe, and Ward are more rural.
