We were lucky enough to select the Shawnee neighborhood on Fort Leavenworth and we couldn't be happier. Everyone in in the area is eager to make friends, the neighboorhood is filled with kids, which my daughters love and there are parks 3 parks within a 1/4 mile of my house. Hancock pool is close, for a small fee in the summer and use the pool, which has a splash pad, shallow toddler pool and regular pool with a slide. Shawnee is districted for Bradley Elementary School, which is amazing - the teachers and principal are fabulous, the facilities are incredible: a planetarium, separate science lab, art and music classrooms, needless to say we couldn't be happier. The houses have basic finishes like carpet, linoleum, and laminate counter tops, but living here is totally worth it. The commute to CGSC is short, my husband is able to ride his bike everyday and over 90% of the neighborhood is here for 1 year. Living on Fort Leavenworth is a great experience and I would highly recommend it!
