Bolling AFB Joint Base Anacostia: New Potomac Place

Fort Meade is located at the center of so many things to do in Maryland. There are malls close by and Washington D.C. is not too far of a drive. As far as things to do, you will always find somewhere to go and try if you are stationed in Fort Meade. The military housing is fairly new and the elementary school, shoppette, commissary, and PX is all fairly close to all the housing and within walking distance. Most of the housing is two stories, and their are numerous parks all over the base for the kids. You will also see a lot of wildlife on post such as deers and foxes and ground hogs. There are some bad areas outside of base that you should be watchful for but on base I felt completely safe.

The newish single family homes near the PX and Manor View elementary were our residence for 7 years and we were very happy raising a baby there. Three, 4, or 5 beds available. Some single family, some town homes and some single family attached. Picerne/Corvias (housing company) very involved with community outreach, parties, etc. Pretty good about repairs. Still installing builder grade carpeting, or just cleaning for new tenants. Don't know why they wont move to faux wood floors at least. Not great with offering upgraded house according to rank promotion. Landscaping handled, snow removed, nice playgrounds (especially Burba Lake), very easy to walk to community events, ie concerts on parade field.
