Camp Mackall: Linden Oaks

I live in Linden Oaks, Cameron NC. This is a great place to live if you want to get away from the military base. It is a subdivision of Fort Bragg, it has 3 elementary and middle schools, great for younger children. It has a Teen Center and a Child Development center. Most of the houses are similar to traditional military housing such as a duplex. The Field Grade housing are single houses. The commute to Ft Bragg can ranch from 20-40 minutes based on where the unit is located on Ft Bragg. There are several stores in the area, very easy access to Fayetteville (30min) and Sanford (20 min)/ Raleigh (1 hr) and Southern Pines (30 min).

Nice neigbhorhood, but the drive is 15 minutes to places like walmart, 25-35 minutes to the main fayetteville shopping areas, 20 minutes to main post and commissary, px. The drive can get old because there are country roads between the neighborhood and post. I do think it's worth it to live here but the drive can get old.

Love it, my hubby works off Longstreet and it only takes him 20 minutes to get to and from work when he takes the Manchester gate. There are side walks everywhere (which you do not get off post anywhere).
