Fort Hood: Montague

Montague is located on the west side of base so you are away from the main parts. I love how quiet it is and the traffic isn't as bad as around the main gates or clear creek. Also you are close to Copperas Cove if you need to run errands. It's easier than going to Killeen. Remember it depends where you spouse will be working on base because it can take a while to get across base if he works on the east side and you live on the west. Overall loved Montague.

Fort Hood housing is provided by a partnership between the Army and Actus Lend Lease LLC. Housing at Fort Hood was one of the first in the Army to undergo privatization. This partnership began in 2001 and has created master planned communities on the installation. Actus Lend Lease provides free lawn care services to Families of deployed service members. To register, Families should register at their local administrative office. Housing areas are serviced by elected mayors and units who are responsible for their assigned housing area.
