"Large beautiful red-brick homes on base housing"
You may have to wait a bit to get on base housing, but for many families it's worth it. Homes are very large and open, and have a bright airy spacious feel.
There are also herds of antelope on base, so it's not at all uncommon to look out the window and see antelope grazing in the yard.
Nice sidewalks make for easy jogging paths, and you're also close to the PT outdoor track near the parade field.
A housing strategy quite a few families use, is either buy/rent off base - put their names in for housing then once it becomes available, move on base - and rent out their home on the economy, as the rental market is strong in Cheyenne.
