"Saltmeadow Bay Apartments"

I have loved living at Saltmeadow Bay. Having the office and maintenance staff available when I need help with something, especially during my husband's frequent deployments is wonderful and they are pretty responsive. There is a gate at both entrances but sometimes it is left up and it's just an unmanned crossbar, but the buildings are also locked, and there are a lot of people around so I feel safe. One issue is that our upstairs neighbors are insanely loud sometimes. My two-year-old calls them the "Elephants upstairs". I don't know about the schools because my daughter isn't old enough yet. There is a public park with a playground and walking path behind the property but it's kind of secluded and there is a group of quiet, seemingly homeless people that camp out at the end opposite the playground. They are doing a lot of upgrades to the units now like stainless steel appliances and nice fixtures, so ask to see the exact unit you will get.

  • Recommendations: Virginia Beach is just a great place to live. It's relaxed but there is a ton to do for families. I love the Oceanfront neighborhood but it can be kind of tourist-y for some people. Bay Colony is a nearby neighborhood that's a nicer with bigger houses and Redmill is another family-friendly area of town with a suburban feel. I hear pretty good things about public schools in Virginia Beach, but haven't had personal experience with them.
