"DownTown Montgomery"
DownTown Montgomery is known for it's cultural attractions. Personally, we did the Rosa Parks Museum ($$ but educational and worthwhile) and the First White house of the Confederacy (free and small/quick to do). The Harriet River Boat is here as well as Escapology (escape game) which are unique attractions. Food here includes the Aviator Bar which is unique with decor and nooks/areas for different groups as well as Chris' Hotdogs which is over 100 years old and served some famous people! We also like Cahawba House which is local, southern food.
The area itself is minutes from Maxwell AF base. The parking is meter parking and is free after 6pm I believe, otherwise there are paid parking lot options. The area by base and around DownTown is unsafe but I have never heard of issues in DownTown itself.
