Monterey Bay: Off Base Area of Town

"One of the best areas of the city to have fun and get out of the comfort zone."

The Monterey area is an extremely cool environment for anyone. I consider this area as extremely safe, and with a lot of diversity regarding entertainment for all people. One of the things I liked the most about my stay in the Monterey area, is the fact of the incredible security there is, on several occasions I went out to have fun with my friends in the Bars, and I could go out at any time, from likewise there were patrols 24 hours a day, attentive to any situation. I love the Monterey vibe, and based on my experience, I have no doubt I'd like to visit this area of ​​the city again. Everything is very close, the banks, the garages, the restaurants, everything is really accessible with respect to the distance to be covered.

There was a great deal of outdoor activities, biking, hiking, golfing, and lots of people to join while doing these activities.

Schools were not good at all, gangs, drugs, 25-30 kids in a class, etc. We opted for private school one year and homeschooled another.

Military housing just built new housing with a great new community center on Fort Ord, La Mesa is also a housing option and some friends of ours loved being close to NPS, DLI & downtown Monterey.
