Bluewater Bay: Off Base Area of Town

I was excited to get a base close to the ocean and heard BWB was the best area to live. It is safe, quite, pretty and has a small town feel. The quickest access to Destin is the Midbay bridge (10-15min) but it has a ridiculous toll of $4 every time you pass and of you get a sunpass you pay $3 . So going to and from a day beach trip costs you $8 to $6. There is nothing to do in BWB and no water access unless you pay for a state park pass for Rocky Bayou. Yes, money again. There are only two free parks in Niceville and both are north (not BWB). It is far from I10 as well and if you need any specialty doctor care you are going to have to go to Pensacola so being close to I10 would be ideal. The only good thing about BWB is there are two roads to get home from work which helps cut traffic (Crestview traffic is terrible) however there is a toll on the back road as well.

Bluewater Bay is on the North side of the Choctawhatchie Bay and has easy access to the sights and sounds of Destin,Fl. It has great schools and is continually growing with shopping and night life.
