"Junction City Housing-Right Outside Ft. Riley"

Junction City is a good mix between being a small town, and having a bigger population. The High School is a 6A school and is competitive in sports. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming because they are so used to people coming and going with the military. A lot of the population in Junction City is military and those who aren't are still very use to the military lifestyle.

  • Recommendations: I would recommend living in this area more for the people than the things to do. Junction City doesn't have a lot of attractions or great night life, but everyone I have met said they were disappointed when they heard they were coming to Ft. Riley Kansas, until they met the people and got to know the area surrounding Ft. Riley. Many of them have told me they would come back and a lot of people do request to be stationed in the area again. Manhattan is only a 20 minute drive from Junction, 10-15 minutes from Ft. Riley, and Manhattan has a lot of the attractions that Junction City is missing so it is not a far drive to do something.
