The River Walk in Columbus is a great running/walking/biking path that runs along the river downtown. It's not lined with shops or restaurants, but it is in the downtown area and the parking lot is next to one of best restaurants in the city. The downtown area has been restored and has tons of shopping (all kinds), places to eat, coffee shops, a museum, two salons, a photography studio, a yoga studio, and lots more. It's a great place to go on weekends, and during the summer you can bring a picnic dinner & blanket and listen to live concerts. The people are unbelievably friendly and welcoming....it was definitely one of my favorite places in Columbus!

  • How would you describe this Area of Town: Outdoor Activities, Museum, Touristy, Artistic, Locals Spot, Shopping, Restaurant and Bars, Parks and Recreation, Night Life
  • Recommendations: I recommend living in this area (downtown) if you're newly married, or married without kids. The area is family friendly, but there are lots of great restaurants/bars that are within walking distance that might be more suitable for people who don't have kids. There are TONS of options as far as housing. There are newly renovated loft apartments, older apartments, houses, and historical houses that are available to rent and to buy. If we ever go back, we'll definitely look into buying an older historical home.
