Bartlett is a great town! Close to the mall, close to tons of restaurants, both local and chain. So close to downtown Memphis with AMAZING food and great music, Bartlett still has a sweet suburban feel. Between Bartlett's parks and rec programs, local parks and Memphis's plethora of family friendly places, Bartlett is a great place to raise kids.

  • Recommendations: We love this area because you're close to everything ranging from groceries and day to day errands, to cultural experiences in Memphis, to the airport and freeways. Tennessee boarders 8 states, so travel is easy and convenient as well. So close to downtown Memphis, but still has a sweet suburban feel. Memphis is a city with loads of soul. It has so much history and culture - not to mention the BBQ and a lively music scene.

The positive is that this area is close to the city, the downside is that the sprawl has impacted the suburbia so greatly that what used to be the good neighborhoods when we were here years ago have clearly gone downhill and become less safe suburbia and more city/suburb mix. If you need to be close to the city, I get the pull, but be VERY careful about buying as values are way down in this area.
