"Port Wentworth, Georgia"

As a dual military couple, we were drawn to the area because it's within commuting distance from MCRD Parris Island, SC and Fort Stewart, Ga. Each base is about 45 minutes from Lake Shore subdivision. It's about an hour and a half from Charleston and a quick 15 minutes into downtown Savannah. Lake Shore itself was ok. The houses were nice and the HOA tried their best to upkeep the area, but we found the HOA fee's to be too high for what they did. When we lived there Food Lion was the only grocery store, but i've heard that they've put in a Publix since then. It does provide quick and easy access to the freeway. All in all, I would not recommend anyone purchasing or renting a home in this area.

  • Recommendations: Right down the road there is a fantastic little city called Pooler. I would highly recommend taking the time and visiting. They are a busy up and coming city so investing in property there would be a good idea. You still have easy access to the freeway, although there is a Outlet Mall there so traffic can be a nightmare.
