"Large, but unsafe"

I did not personally live here, but visited many friends often who did live here and I still stand by my decision not to live here. There is usually plenty of availability. Many married couples with no kids were given 3 bedroom homes. Walls can be thin at times, but neighbors seems to be pretty quiet. Parking is okay, but the location of these homes outside of base is awful. Right in north chicago with high crime rates. Many people had lawn and patio furniture stolen, bikes stolen, and I even noticed a sketchy person driving around taking photos (who obviously did not appear to be looking to live there or anything). I did not feel very safe in the neighborhood.

Pros Cons
  1. Plenty
  1. High crime rates
  2. Thin walls
  3. Poor management company

"Quiet Military Community"

Most of the families I have met do not like it here compared to other housing locations for the military. My husband and I personally love it. It is very quite, there are numerous parks within the community for kids to play at and it is pet friendly. The few times I have had to deal with maintenance they have been efficient and very polite. I have heard that other houses are not very roomy, but we have more than enough room in our house for all of our things plus some. I have been living here for about six months now, and it I have not one complaint. When we first moved in there were a few car break ins, but it was dissipated quickly and police patrol were increased. There will always be crime in every city, but it is important not to allow yourself to be a victim. Some of the individuals vehicles that were "broken into" left their vehicles unlocked and expensive items left out in plain site. I am content here and so is my family.

Pros Cons
  1. Quiet
  2. Landscaping is part of housing development.
  3. Friendly staff.
  1. Poor construction of the hallway/stairs.
  2. Some furniture would not fit upstairs.
