"Crofton MD - A great place to live"

I've lived in Crofton Park for almost 20 years. This super friendly neighborhood was built in the late 1970's and features an entrance complete with a pond and resident ducks. The community is built around a 3 mile loop, the Crofton Parkway. The golf course is inside that 3 mile loop with mostly single family homes surrounding. Lots of golf course lots within the community. Single family home prices start around $375k to over $500 with townhomes priced in the $250 to $350 range.

"Crofton, MD - Location, Loction, Location!"

Crofton, MD, is located in the middle of a triangle formed by DC, Baltimore and Annapolis - less than 20 miles from Joint Base Andrews, Fort Meade, and the U.S. Naval Academy. It's primarily an established neighborhood, with highly rated schools, a community organization for nearly every interest, and lots of dining and shopping options. This is a military friendly area where American flags fly high over parts of Crofton Parkway, a Blue-Star Memorial garden greets visitors to the Crofton Library, and there's an annual Armed Forces Day Parade. We raised our children in Crofton, and have taken our grandchildren to the same parks. Highly recommend!

"Great, family friendly, safe neighborhood"

We live on a cul de sac in this neighborhood. It is surrounded by huge trees and the neighbors are social and friendly. Our boys love to play outside and this is a great place for them. The people that live in this area are generally professionals and take a very strong interest in their children's lives and activities. The age range in my area is mostly later 30's and early 40's. There are many stay at home moms and all that I know had prior careers before deciding to stay home with their kids. This area is great for running, walking and biking. There are 2 elementary schools in the neighborhood, a park, 2 pools and a golf course. Most people have smaller dogs and kids so I wouldn't recommend large, aggressive dogs This area is about 7 miles from Ft Meade and it is about 17 miles to Andrews AFB. This is just a little sheltered community that people love and it shows! I highly recommend it! The 2 elementary school CWES and Crofton Elementary are excellent.

  • Recommendations: My preference is "inside the triangle." That means inside of Hwy 3, Davidsonville Rd and Defense Hwy. There are some larger yards and homes just behind Crofton and Defense Hwy that are pretty and very nice. The only problem is there are no sidewalks and you don't have the same neighborhood closeness.
