"Organ Mountains"
Sonoma Ranch is a very safe family friendly area of town. It has a golf course in the community along with a club house that serves great food at a bit of a price. The schools in Sonoma Ranch are the best that Las Cruces has to offer. Although Las Cruces is a fairly small city with a population of 200K, it is the second largest city in New Mexico. Albuquerque is the largest city which is 3 hours away. Las Cruces is home to New Mexico State University. The city is boasts of friendly people and very little traffic. We absolutely love the area.

- Recommendations: The East side of town is the newest area of Las Cruces; however if you go too far East (past Porter) it gets into a less dense area with many patches of areas with trailers.
