"Bel Air"
Anywhere close to intersection of Fairway Blvd and Kell West Blvd (or Fairway & Southeest Parkway) is convenient to newest, most desirable part of town. Further you live away from there, is just less convenient.
Bel Air is quiet family friendly. Minutes (a few blocks, walking) from best grocery store in town, United Market Street. Minutes from mall, Lowes, Home Depot, all the best restaurants and public schools.
East side of Bel Air is older (70s-80s, closer to Fairway). Newest homes (2000-2016) are on West side by Alexandria St and south side off of Stonegate. There is also new construction there and several open lots, 2 of which are under single family construction as of July 2016. Housing range is 120k-180k and up to approx 2500sqft.
There is a nice city park in the middle of the neighborhood with tennis, basketball, and jungle gym.
