"Great Area, Poor Management"
The neighborhood is great with great school zone. My children went to the middle school and high school there. We lived in Williamsburg for three years prior to renting this home. The neighborhood is very convenient to all types of shopping and is quiet with children from pre-school through college living there. The house was not so great. Very old, in desperate need of updating: vinyl tile floor loose or off, white carpet looks like it came w/the house, landscaping neglected but expected to be kept up. I understand he was deployed most of our time there but he was quick to ask if I paid rent if he didn't see it in his account or request I show the house. It took 2 weeks to convince him we needed a new lock on the font door because the keys were missing. When the toilet and garbage disposal broke we emailed many times with no response. He didn't seem to care about anything but his rent and making sure someone was living there. Now he refuses to return our pet deposit.

- Recommendations: Scotts Pond is great. Ford's Colony is good if you can afford it. The whole town is great just depends on what schools you want to go to. The elementary and middle schools do not feed into a specific high school so kids get split from the three middle schools into different high school , its good because they don't stay with the same kids at each school. The newest schools are Warhill High (2007-08) and Hornsby Middle (2010-11). Jamestown was built in 1997 and Lafayette was the first high school in 1973-74. Decent size outlet mall and Colonial Williamsburg can be interesting for history buffs. Busch Gardens and Water Country are hands down the best amusement parks I've ever been to. An hours drive will put you in Richmond with tons to do or Norfolk with a lot of military and tourist attractions. Fort Eustis in Newport News is about 20-25 minutes away.
