Porter Community is located centrally on Schofield Barracks, within walking distance to the PX, commissary etc. The neighborhood is designed to be walkable with tons of paths and playgrounds away from the roads. It is open to a big variety of ranks (from E4 to O3). There is a fun sprinkler park by the community center, which also has a great event room (available to rent for free), a movie theater and small gym (key-card entrance). The staff at the community center also hosts fun events throughout the year for residents. The homes are either duplex style or freestanding, ranging from 1600-2000 sqf, either with a single or two-car garage. All of the houses were built in between 2007-2010. The floorplans all feature a big kitchen with island, lots of storage space and good-sized bedrooms. The homes are modern, with dark wood laminate floors and carpets upstairs.
