Overall experience so far is good. At first we spoke to a realtor here and she showed us a home. It was our first time moving into a Hawaii military base housing. We used to live in Navy housing across the airport. Well, the realtor mentioned available houses were scarce and that it was better for us to sign a lease and break it afterwards if we saw a different house we liked. She LIED. We signed a lease contract with Hickam and after that we saw a house we liked in AMR. I asked to cancel the lease we signed as she mentioned we could do that...she then proceeded to tell her supervisor and they said we could not do that. So we got stuck here and lost the opportunity to live in AMR for believing her lies.
Anyways...overall its been ok so far. If something breaks, they fix in a short amount of time. Unless you're smack in the middle of PCS season, which I'm pretty sure it happens all the time in all bases. Their maintenance office usually have all the things you need to keep up the house within their standards.
