The Village at Fort Belvoir has great military housing however this one that we currently live in is not satisfactory towards our needs. The layout is is not geared for the kids to play safely as the parents can watch them effectively such as the basketball goal is tucked behind someone's back yard so therefore, you don't see many kids playing basketball there due to the location. In addition, there are two playgrounds for the smaller children in the area but no playground for the middle aged/highschool aged students and those are the ages of our kids. So when my children go outside to play they walk over to another village to have a fun time because there is nothing for them to do here.
We live on a culdesac and seems like the residents want to treat it as a playground area for the kids. However, we have older children who are involved with activiities at school so therefore we need to commute back and forth. This has become a major problem during the entire time we have leaved here. The manager has to send out letters constantly but no change because people will do what they want to do at all times. Very rude and disrespectful to have garbage cans blocking the section off to the culdesac when people need to drive in and out and toys left in the street. Basically there is a major difference in the age of the kids located in this community so everyone has different interest which can cause a conflict at times.
