"Some hidden gems downtown!"
I wouldn't live downtown due to traffic on 1-10. Better off to live in the far East or northeast and travel downtown for specific events. Downtown El Paso grew on us! We loved seeing shows and concerts at the plaza theatre and attending baseball games at the Chihuahua stadium. It definitely felt more like big city life than most military towns. There are also a variety of hotels for staycations and for hosting military events!
