"Great Neighborhood- Not Military Feel"

Loved this neighborhood overall! Great location & accommodations nearby. Not crowded and no traffic or tunnels. Good restaurants, movies, and such right outside the neighborhood and only 15 minutes to downtown Norfolk. But BEWARE of renting or working with Property Managers in this area. They target military and keep security deposits! "The Real Estate Group" specifically- Our property manager Kristin Perecko was awful and dishonest with tenants.

"Stepford without the robots"

The Riverfront is a high-end, huge planned community with golf course, swim club, tennis courts, etc. Homes range from $550,000 up to over $2 million. Lots of senior O's, both active duty and retired. Most active duty are stationed at Joint Forces Suffolk, Portsmouth Naval Hospital and NOB. This is a great location to buy your "forever home." Home prices have remained fairly steady and any rentals in the area go fast. The elementary school is excellent, albeit large like all VA schools. Our private "neighborhood" school, Nansemond Suffolk Academy, is phenomenal but $$.

Shopping in the area is very good and there is a movie theater and restaurants within a 2 minute drive. There are lots of very nice locally owned businesses but if I need the big box/warehouse stores, those are all 10 min. away on Portsmouth Blvd. in Chesapeake. The only thing missing out here is a Trader Joe's and I can drive 20 min. to Newport News for that. Closest NEX/Comm is at PNSY about 15-20 min. away.

"Gorgeous planned community well maintained"

This is a gorgeous planned community. The houses are brick or siding and the yards are a good size. You can live on the water in a million dollar home, or a regular home, there is also condo and duplexes for people who can't spend as much or want to rent. This place is amazing!!
