Camp Pendleton: San Mateo Point

This is San Clemente, WEST of the I-5 Freeway!! Walking distance to the best surf on the CA coast! What more could you ask for?

These beautiful, attached officer homes are located just outside the San O gate of Camp Pendleton. Most of the homes are 3 br, 2 1/2 ba, 2 car garage. There are 6 4 br homes for W-O-3 the O4+ homes are attached 4 br 2 1/2 car garage. This neighborhood is gated, and does not allow cats. Dogs ok. There are no yards, just court yards but they have a great dog park.

San Mateo Point is located off base but it's a great community. We loved living here. The homes are nicer and newer.

We have really enjoyed living here. The community is great, especially for small children. They seem to be everywhere. The houses aren't bad, they are starting to replace the floors in houses and putting in new vinyl that looks like hardwood. It really makes it look nicer. It's 15-20 minute walk to the Trestles beach, which has great surfing. And it's about a 5 minute drive to Clemente State Beach. It's very safe, however it's not on base. It has a gate at the front of the community, but no guards. Many kids go to San Onofre for school or parents can petition to send kids to San Clemente school which is walking distance. The only down side is the traffic noise is really loud here. There is a small wall and you can hear all the cars passing by on the interstate, other than that we love it!
