Cheektowaga: Off Base Area of Town

This is an older area of Buffalo with many established neighborhoods. There is a predominant polish and czech population here. You will be able to get great pirogues in this spot as many churches sell them!! As a whole it is kind of a run down area because it is a bit older. There is a lot of industry and abandoned factories. Just a lot of eye sores. The proximity to the highway is close so commuting and getting around to the other suburbs is very easy. The schools leave something to be desired. There are stronger schools in some of the other suburbs. The crime rate is on par with metro Buffalo, which is another reason I don't think its a great fit for families. There are pockets of nicer homes, but for the most part it is quite a bit older.
