"Beautiful Views, Old Housing"

I would say "yes and no" to whether I'd recommend. Senior NCO/Chief housing is along the waters of the Potomac and the views of the Capitol, Washington Monument, etc are incredible. However, the housing for these ranks is very small and in sore need of updates. We ended up putting a lot of our belongings in storage, because they simply wouldn't fit in this house. The homes are duplexes, with very small attached garages and a strange downstairs floor plan (laundry room is smack in the middle of the downstairs). We also had issues with mice in our home because of the age and nearness to the river. Proximity to the Pentagon and ease of travel into DC made this a yes for the short time we were stationed there (a year), but if we had been there longer, we would've rented off base.
