Elmwood Village: Off Base Area of Town

A super ecclectic area that is in the heart of downtown Buffalo. The main attraction is Elmwood Avenue and it is lined with vintage shops, furniture stores, local artisans, hair salons, coffee shops, restaurants, and even a grocery co-op. There are always festivals and events that also highlight this area. Always pet friendly, most of the businesses have bowls of water outside of their establishments. The surrounding neighborhood is a mix of old victorian homes and parks. Some of the homes closer to Elmwood Ave are cut up into apartments and are perfect for a single person or a married couple who are looking to live with a cool urban vibe. Most of the larger historic homes are large family homes. The area is still "up and coming" so i wouldn't recommend for raising a family.
